This compressor features a jaw opening range of 1.375 inches to 5.625 inches, with a 5.875 inch throat clearance. **NOTE: This tool is only for use on engines with exposed valve springs and is not compatible with engines with recessed springs.**
  • DESIGN: This compressor features heat treated alloy steel construction with phosphate and zinc coatings that provide increased durability and resistance against rust and corrosion. The tool’s large metal turn knob offers sufficient leverage for spring compression, and the spring-loaded offset jaw design compensates for spring wind to keep the compressor level on valve spring retainers during compression.
  • APPLICATION: This compressor makes valve spring installation simple, without needing to remove the cylinder head from the engine. Thanks to its adjustable design, the tool is compatible with valve spring retainers up to 1.32 inches in diameter. While in use, the offset jaws grip valve spring coils in parallel to distribute pressure evenly for a positive grip and effortless operation. **NOTE: An air valve holder is recommended for servicing valve springs with cylinder head still on engine.**
