4. Global Privacy Control

Global Privacy Control, commonly called GPC, is a browser-based preference signal that can communicate a request to opt out of certain sales or sharing of personal information and certain processing for targeted advertising.

Where applicable law requires GarageNest to recognize an opt-out preference signal, we will process a valid and legally recognized signal, such as GPC, for the browser or device from which the signal is received.

A GPC signal may apply only to:

  • The browser from which the signal was sent

  • The device being used

  • Information connected to that browser or device

  • An identifiable customer account when the signal can reasonably be associated with that account

If you use multiple browsers or devices, you may need to enable GPC separately on each browser or device.

Enabling GPC does not necessarily stop all data collection. Information that is reasonably necessary to operate the website, process orders, prevent fraud, provide requested services, maintain security, or comply with law may still be collected and processed.

5. Cookie and Advertising Preferences

8. Verification of Requests

We will not request more information than reasonably necessary to verify and process the request.

Opt-out requests generally will not require extensive identity verification unless necessary to associate the request with an identifiable account or prevent fraud.

9. Authorized Agents

11. Effect of an Opt-Out

  • You may continue to see advertisements for GarageNest

  • Some website personalization may be reduced

  • Necessary order, security, fraud-prevention, and customer-service processing may continue

An opt-out does not require us to delete personal information. A deletion request must be submitted separately where that right is available.

We will not interpret the absence of an opt-out preference signal as consent where applicable law prohibits us from doing so.

Where required by law, we will not ask you to opt back into the same processing before the legally permitted period has passed.

12. Non-Discrimination

GarageNest will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

Exercising a privacy right will not result in the unlawful:

  • Denial of products or services

  • Charging of a different price

  • Provision of a different level or quality of service

  • Retaliation against you

Differences reasonably related to the value of personal information, voluntary loyalty programs, or other legally permitted arrangements may apply only where properly disclosed and permitted by applicable law.

13. Response Times

We will acknowledge and respond to verified privacy requests within the period required by applicable law.

The time needed to complete a request may depend on:

  • Verification requirements

Where permitted, we may extend the response period when reasonably necessary. If an extension applies, we will provide notice and an explanation.

14. Requests That May Be Limited or Denied
